What cleaner does TORLYS recommend?
TORLYS recommends you use a no-rinse pH-neutral cleaner, such as Finitec’s (www.finitec.ca) or similar.
Can I use a Wet Swiffer® on TORLYS floors?
No. It is not pH-neutral, and cleaner should be applied to the mop cover, not to the floor.
Can I use a steam mop on TORLYS floors?
Yes, on vinyl products only.
How do I remove..?
Scratches: The solution varies by product finish. Contact TORLYS for detailed information.
Shoe scuffs: Try rubbing scuffs off with your finger. If that doesn’t work, try mineral spirits. If neither methods work, replace the damaged flooring pieces with the TORLYS BulldogTM Tool.
Paint/Stain: Put acetone or mineral spirits on to a cloth and try rubbing the stains away. Follow by wiping the surface with a damp cloth. Do not allow the acetone or mineral spirits to dry on the surface of the floor.
Marker: Use acetone to get rid of the mark, then wipe the surface with a damp cloth. Do not allow the acetone to dry on the surface of the floor.
Wax/Gum/Crayon: Start by removing as much solid material as possible, then scrub the area with a no-rinse pH-neutral cleaner, such as Finitec’s (www.finitec.ca) or similar. If that doesn’t work, rub the area with a 10-to-1 solution of water and bleach. As a last resort, try using acetone.
Will my cork flooring change colour when exposed to light?
Cork flooring will change colour when exposed to both direct or indirect sunlight. To protect your cork flooring and reduce colour change, use proper window treatments.
I have a pet. What do I need to do to protect my TORLYS flooring?
Keep your pet’s nails or claws properly trimmed. We also recommend placing mats under pets’ dishes and cleaning up immediately if they have an “accident”.
What type of vacuum cleaner should I use?
Use a vacuum with a floor brush wand, not a beater bar/rotary brush as they can damage the finish of your flooring.
